Il Soffio del Gatto
Mostra e laboratorio di Giulia Mangoni, in collaborazione con Int.Geo.Mod. e Hyla
In line with the educational vocation of the Museum and its activities, artist Giulia Mangoni (Isola del Liri, 1991) will propose a project to halfway between an exhibition and a workshop. Characterized from a strong participatory attitude, Il Soffio del Gatto, will include several moments. After carrying out surveys of the exhibition space and the Monteluco area - accompanied by the operators of Int.Geo.Mod. and Hyla, the two entities that manage the Museum - Giulia Mangoni has created a series of small-format works (paintings and sculptures) inspired by the collection preserved at the Museum of Science and Territory, based on the collections of Count Francesco Toni and Professor Bernardino Ragni. Afterwards, the artist will install the works inside the Sacred Wood of Monteluco over the course of one day, Sunday, July 9, in conjunction with the "Festival of the Woods": the paintings and sculptures will support the educational activities of the Museum staff planned for the day, offering an additional opportunity for storytelling of the naturalistic heritage. Also on July 9, Mangoni will lead a life-drawing workshop aimed at observing the landscape and surrounding nature.
At the end of the day, the materials produced, including some of the works previously created by the artist, will become to part of the Museum of Science and Territory's collection: in this way, Giulia Mangoni offers as a gift her own creations, which can be used by Museum staff during the various educational activities, thus sanctioning a close interaction between art and science.
