DreamHouse
Installazione di Alice Paltrinieri
Casa Romana, an archaeological site dating back to to 1st century AD, hosts a project by artist Alice Paltrinieri (Rome, 1987), to curated by Spazio Taverna. The intervention focuses on the ancient living function of the site. For the occasion, the visitor will be welcomed from a sound installation based on the stories of dreams from by people interviewed by the artist.
The selected testimonies focus on the theme of the house - understood as a place of refuge, and repository of memories -, with the intention of shortening the distance that is often placed between the contemporary world and archaeological sites. Alice Paltrinieri's intervention aims to bring the visitor into an atmosphere in which contemporary dreams come to life from a place that, more than 2,000 years ago, saw other people living and dreaming. The descriptions of the places and spaces narrated within the dreams overlap with the imagery evoked by the environments of Casa Romana; the everyday and familiar dimension that originally characterized the place re-emerges to centuries later in the form of dreams, the narrative of which is spread throughout the different rooms of the domus.
