MaMa SPOLETO OPEN offers a creative environment where to discover new talents and meet interesting art forms, where to surprise each other, exchange ideas, spend time and have fun. A reference point for the Festival audience, for the citizens of Spoleto and for artists who wish to show their work in the context of a major international Festival, such as the Spoleto Festival dei 2Mondi.
A festival spread across different spaces and places in the city, open to the most diverse forms of artistic expression: dance, theater, music, performances, video, DJs, visual artists.
The program of La MaMa SPOLETO OPEN consists of:
INTERNATIONAL BID SELECTION: Presents a wide calendar of artistic events, performances and exhibitions, selected through the widespread call for participation to international level, which will involve and animate throughout the day various spaces and places in the city.
GUEST ARTISTS: A program of activities, workshops, performances and special events curated by the various Associations and partners collaborating in the organization of the event.
OSTERIA DEL ROSSOBASTARDO: Festival reception and meeting place, open from morning to evening in Campello Square, animated from live music, comic interventions, performances of various kinds, where you can taste wines and quality food and wine products from the area.
AFTER MIDNIGHT TARTA CLUB: In the ´80s and ´90s the nights of the Spoleto Festival were distinguished by the unforgettable parties inside the Tartaruga disco. Resuming this year´s nightly programming of live music, DJs, performances by international and local artists to renew the lively atmosphere of partying and fun.

All those who collaborate and participate in the event La MaMa Spoleto Open, both in the organizational and artistic part, do so totally voluntarily, freely and independently, without receiving compensation or reimbursement, thus directly and personally supporting the event. To allow wide accessibility to the public, most of the scheduled events will still be free and open to everyone. In some cases a small contribution will be requested from the public, through the payment of a popularly priced ticket, which will be entirely allocated to the artists and companies to meet part of the expenses incurred to participate in the festival. Through this modality the audience contributes to in turn in a direct way to support the promotion and presentation of the event.
