The documentary"Gian Carlo Menotti maestro dei Due Mondi"-text and direction by Melo Freni-was filmed in Scotland at the villa inhabited by from Menotti to Yester.

The maestro recounts his life from childhood to his approach to Spoleto, via stops in Philadelphia and New York.

The narrative is enriched from inserts of Menotti's works, from himself indicated, from:"Maria Golovin,""The Medium,""The Saint of Bleecker Street," "TheConsul,""Martin's Lie," and"Amahl and the Night Visitors."

At the center of the documentary is a supplementary interview recorded instead to Spoleto, in which the maestro recalls the young musicians who alternated conducting the orchestras, from Thomas Schippers to to Steven Mercurio, that is, from 1958 to 1981, the date of his 70th birthday.

A unique testimony that effectively summarizes the life of the man and the artist, as from he himself told it, on the thread of memory and future hopes.
