2' RASSEGNA DI CINEMA E PSICOANALISI
under the sponsorship of the Italian Psychoanalytic Society and the Experimental Center ofCinematography/National Film Archive.
to edited by Claudia Spadazzi and Fabio Castriota
Not everyone knows that Sigmund Freud was awarded the Goethe Prize for Literature and some of his writings are of great relevance, as well as very pleasant reading.
The Review of Cinema and Psychoanalysis presents six films that will be commented on from six well-known analysts of the Italian Psychoanalytic Society and discussed with the audience present in the theater, with actors, directors and film critics.
Each film takes from a cue from one of Freud´s writings, excerpts from which will be read from young actors from the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia.
Present will be Valerio Magrelli (Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia), critic Italo Moscati, director Luca Guadagnino, Fellini´s set designer Dante Ferretti, director Francesca Comencini, actress Margherita Buy, and set designer Paolo Bonfini.
Eternal topics-war, mourning, femininity, the uncanny, love, the transience of earthly things-and the psychic dynamics underlying them, represented on screen through auteur films, will be commented on from a psychoanalytic perspective that highlights their unconscious aspects and the ways in which they were creatively processed.
