Il Festival della Cultura Sostenibile
Festival dei Due Mondi, recognized as an excellence in the national and international cultural scene, is also distinguished by its ability to offer original artistic proposals year after year that prompt audiences to to reflect on the transformations taking place in the world and in lifestyles. Today, the most important challenge is to accelerate toward a sustainable development model, and the Foundation Festival dei Due Mondi has committed to adhere to some of the sustainability goals of the UN 2030 Agenda and to promote ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) issues to the public with the aim of becoming an excellence and a reference point in this field as well.
Many initiatives have already been launched in the last two years: from one the one hand a path of optimization in a sustainable key of operational processes, and on the other a'opera public awareness with a program of dedicated initiatives ranging from meetings and conferences with the presence of numerous experts, to partnerships with institutions and other companies engaged in the same issues, to projects aimed at participation and inclusion.
The continuous review of operational processes leads to to find new solutions that maintain efficiency and quality through the use of materials with low environmental impact, reducing waste and choosing suppliers who are also committed to these issues. Some CO2 saving results have been achieved and even more ambitious ones will be achieved in next years.
The special projects and initiatives of Festival dei Due Mondi, in parallel with the artistic proposal, make an important contribution to developing a deep and articulate reflection on the principles and models of development in our society. Topics such as climate change, the environment and natural resources, respect for human rights, gender equality, inclusiveness and anti-discrimination, cultural growth and combating educational poverty are at the center of initiatives promoted or hosted by the Festival. There is a red thread that connects the presence of Stefano Mancuso to the initiatives carried out in collaboration with Rai Per la Sostenibilità - ESG, as well as to those aimed at the prison realities of the #SIneNOmine project. Children and young men and women involved in the Educational projects, with their infinite potential, are protagonists of the change of the future, just as citizens are involved to imagine and discuss spaces and architecture and their relationship with the surrounding nature; opportunities to reflect on a new way of being a city and a new way of being citizens.
