FANFARA DELLA LEGIONE ALLIEVI CARABINIERI DI ROMA
Comprising from 45 military-musicians on permanent duty from Italian conservatories, the Fanfare of the Legione degli Allievi Carabinieri in Rome, which was created for institutional services of representation, but is also strong from an intense concert activity in Italy and major European cities, presents a program that ranges from the celebratory one of marches and anthems to the lyrical-symphonic one with music by Ludwig Van Beethoven, Franz Von Suppé, Nicola Piovani, Michele Mangani, Johan Williams, Johan de Meij, Gioacchino Rossini, Luigi Cirenei, Michele Novaro and Danilo di Silvestro, director of the ensemble since 1997.

M.° M.to. s. UPS Danilo di Silvestro was born to Pescara in 1969, he graduated in Trombone from the Luisa D'Annunzio Conservatory in Pescara , he obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in "Band Conducting" at the Accademia Musicale Pescarese and in "Band Instrumentation" at the Frosinone Conservatory . He attended courses in band conducting and instrumentation with masters D. Carnevali and E.M. Corporon. In 1998 with the Fanfare he inaugurated the 2nd International Band Competition in Frosinone and in the year 2005 he inaugurated the "Corciano Festival," a competition for original band compositions. With the DC Fanfare he carries out an intense concert and institutional activity, performing in Italian and foreign squares and theaters. He has conducted international band ensembles such as the Atlantic Brass Band of the state of New Jersey, the Crawly Millenium Concert Band of London, the Marecchusse of the Netherlands and the City Band of Torrevieja in Spain. He collaborates as a guest conductor with several Italian band music ensembles (wind orchestra "I Musici lotariani," Banda Città di Scandriglia, Corpo Musicale Città di Monterubbiano, wind orchestra "Unione Ciociara Musicale," Banda città di Nerola conducting with the latter the world-renowned Italian trumpeter Marco Pierobon). He has been quoted in band music books such as "Strumentazione per Banda" by to. de Paola and "Dizionario della Musica italiana per Banda" by M. Anesa, as well as in numerous newspapers. He is the author of compositions and transcriptions for band. He is often invited as president or jury member in national band competitions. On June 2, 2010, he was named a Knight of the Republic. Since August 1997 he has been Maestro-Director of the Fanfare of the Carabinieri Cadet Legion in Rome.
Following the transfer in 1885 of the Carabinieri Cadet School in Turin to Rome, the Fanfare became, with the increase in personnel the present Carabinieri Band. But the need to cater to the various musical needs from fulfill in and around Rome, as well as the various training activities that a military school entails (such as marching a multitude of military personnel) , led in parallel to the establishment of the Fanfare of the Carabinieri Cadet Legion of Rome. Subsequently, by Circular No. 161/8 of July 31, 1951, norms and rules inherent in its personnel plan were established for the achievement of a satisfactory degree of artistic efficiency. This musical ensemble is active both for institutional services of representation such as Oaths, Ceremonies, honors to Heads of State, Guard of Honor at the Quirinale and for an intense concert activity that has seen it present in almost all Italian cities (squares and theaters) as well as abroad (Malta, Germany, England, France and Switzerland). The musical ensemble's repertoire ranges from the celebratory (Marches and Hymns) to the lyrical-symphonic with a particular predilection for literature created specifically for Banda.
Also parallel to this musical activity, it accompanies with appropriate music of gallops and trots the famous Historic Carousel of the 4th Carabinieri Regiment to Cavallo. At present, the Fanfare consists of from 45 military-musicians on permanent duty from Italian conservatories. The Fanfare has to its credit to numerous radio and television broadcasts. The Fanfare of the Cadet Legion has been directed since August 1997 by Maestro Assistant Marshal Deputy Public Safety Officer Danilo di Silvestro.
