A journalist and satirical writer, he began his journalistic career atUnità as a political correspondent for the party and later edited the daily column Che tempo fa? An author of political and lifestyle satire, in 1989 he founded and directed until 1994 the satirical weekly Cuore: a weekly magazine of human resistance, which, born as a supplement to L'Unità, later became an independent newspaper. Since 1996 he has collaborated with La Repubblica. His writings include Tutti al mare (1986); Il nuovo che avanza (1989); Canzoni politiche (2000); Tutti i santi giorni (2006); _Breviario comico. to perpetua memoria _(2008); Gli sdraiati (2013); Ognuno potrebbe (2015). He is also the author of television programs and plays.
