Premio Speciale a Brian Michael Moore e Santiago Canón
Eighth edition of the award established by the Monini family to honor the international talent of the Festival's protagonists. This year Monini has decided that the award will consist of from two special prizes, ex equo, destined to two young artists attending the event, in the wake of a tradition in which the company always supports from emerging talent. The winners, as from script, will look out the window of Casa Menotti at Piazza Duomo to be portrayed in an iconic gesture dedicated to the founder of the Festival, Gian Carlo Menotti. The two prizes will be awarded to Cincinnati-born tenor Brian Michael Moore, an exemplary performer at the Festival in Mozart'sopera Don Giovanni, in the role of Don Ottavio, and to Santiago Canón, a young and virtuoso Colombian cellist, who made his debut to just 4 years old in the Bogota Philharmonic Orchestra and is presented to Spoleto by the Cartagena Festival Internacional de Música. Maria Flora Monini and Zefferino Monini present the awards.
