In addition to to dancing all the classics of the Romantic repertoire and the most important choreographic masterpieces of the 20th century, Alessandra Ferri was driven by her inexhaustible curiosity as an artist toward ever new and surprising horizons, demonstrating extraordinary talent, generosity and passion.
Alessandra Ferri has become a myth of dance beyond dance, transforming herself - in our collective imagination - into a magnificent modern embodiment of vitality and lightness.
SIAE and Spoleto52 Festival of 2Mondi
The collaboration between the SIAE and the Festival dei Due Mondi of Spoleto is the result of an extraordinary sequence of "elective affinities": from one hand the SIAE, from always in the forefront on the front of the valorization of the cultural heritage of our country, on the other hand the Festival dei Due Mondi, one of the most prestigious events of culture and entertainment in Italy, which since the year of its foundation has placed the emphasis above all on the importance of innovation and research in the areas of music,opera opera, dance and theater.
from such a meeting of shared values, the idea of a Prize was born, which will be awarded every year, to starting in 2010 from a Committee of experts, chosen by Festival dei Due Mondi, as a support of the "new careers" of young Italian authors of: choreography, set design and playwriting.
At a time, in which theatrical life in the broadest sense increasingly takes on the character of a re-proposal of the already known repertoire - albeit in many cases authoritative - it seems essential to encourage the creative work of new authors by focusing on the horizons of an artistic language "in the making," which represents the idea of continuity and at the same time of progress in the sphere of artistic expression.
