The orchestra, born within the prestigious Institute from always a hotbed of great talent, performs music from the great repertoire, as well as contemporary production.

"Grand Prix de direction d'orchestre" at the Besançon International Competition (President of the Jury Manuel Rosenthal). Critics' Prize at the Prokofiev Competition in San Pietroburgo and the only winner of the Robert Blot Competition in Paris, Silvia Massarelli studied at the Santa Cecilia Conservatory of Music in Rome and at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, where she graduated with honors unanimously.
Assistant to M. W. Chung for Verdi's Simon Boccanegra at the Opéra Bastille in Paris.and to Laurent Petit-Girard for Massenet's Werther at the Opéra Comique in Paris, Silvia Massarelli has collaborated with internationally renowned musicians such as Michel Dalberto, Martin Spandenberg, clarinet solo of the Muncher Philharmoniker, Claude Delangle and Jean-Yves Fourmeau, sax Solo of the Berliner Philharmoniker.
She has conducted premieres of numerous composers including Jacqueline Fontyne, Edison Denisov, Lowell Liebermann, Eric Tanguy, Thierry Escaich, Lorenzo Palomo and participated in the Nordic Days Musical Festival in Rejkiavik. She has been invited from numerous prestigious orchestras including: New York Philharmonic, Wiener Kammer Orchester, Orchestre du Capitol de Toulouse, Orchestre des Concerts Lamourex, Orchestre Symphonique de Mulhouse, Orchestre Phylarmonique des Pays de la Loire, Orchestre Symphonique et Lyrique de Nancy, Orchestre Symphonique de Tours, Haendel Festspiele Orchester of Halle, Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic of Bialystok, Cyprus Symphony Orchestra, Ecuador State National Orchestra.
Among the many Italian orchestras from she has conducted, recent debuts with the Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana, the Orchestra Filarmonica di Torino, and the Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale della Rai stand out; recent successes with the Hulencourt Soloist Chamber Orchestra (Brussels) and the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra elevate her artistic qualities to international level.
First overall in the national competition for exams and titles, she is currently a professor of Orchestra at the Santa Cecilia Conservatory of Music in Rome. Silvia Massarelli lives to Pordenone, with her husband Eng. Andrea Brundisini and their two daughters, Virginia and Ginevra.
ORCHESTRA DEL CONSERVATORIO SANTA CECILIA
The Orchestra of the Santa Cecilia Conservatory of Rome, was born from an idea of Maestro Edda Silvestri, its director, and Maestro Silvia Massarelli, professor of Orchestral Exercises at the Santa Cecilia Conservatory.
The age of its musicians ranges from 14 to 25, and all of them attend middle and high school courses at the Santa Cecilia Conservatory.
The Orchestra made its successful debut inaugurating the Festival Jeux d'Art à Villa d'Este in Tivoli in September 2010, from then holds about 10 concerts a year, producing in the most important cultural events organized by the Conservatorio di Santa Cecilia; these include appearances at Sax Fest, La settimana della Cultura and Musica to Rome for Rome, in collaboration with the City of Rome, Les Jours de France à Rome and Suona Francese, in collaboration with the French Embassy and the City of Rome, concerts at Teatro Vespasiano in Rieti, and concerts in St. Peter's Basilica in collaboration with the Vatican City and the Holy See.
The next dates include, among others, the Concert on the Island of Ischia for the celebration of the island's patron saint, St. Michael, this coming September.
