Concerto dei cantanti vincitori del 68° Concorso del Teatro Lirico Sperimentale di Spoleto "A. Belli" – Teatro Lirico dell’Umbria
The "European Community" Competition for Young Opera Singers is one of the most important competitions to international level. Winners are admitted to to attend a two-year Debut Training Course and then be engaged in the Spoleto and Umbria Experimental Opera Season.
Many of the most celebrated leading opera singers on the international scene have won the Spoleto Competition in the past, including Cesare Valletti, Franco Corelli, Antonietta Stella, Ettore Bastianini, Giangiacomo Guelfi, Anita Cerquetti, Renato Bruson, Ruggero Raimondi, Leo Nucci, Marcella Pobbe, Mariella Devia, Giuseppe Sabbatini, Luciana D'Intino, Lucia Aliberti, Norma Fantini, Sonia Ganassi, Daniela Barcellona, Cinzia Forte, Marina Comparato, Micaela Carosi, Nicola Ulivieri, Fabio Maria Capitanucci, Roberto De Candia and, in recent years, Andrea Carè, Simone Piazzola, Maria Agresta and Veronica Simeoni.
The artists who will perform in the concert Oh de' verd'anni miei, accompanied on the piano by M° Francesco Massimi and M° Yuna Saito, are the winners of the 2014 edition of the Spoleto European Singing Competition, whose Jury was chaired by the famous U.S. soprano June Anderson and composed from: Suat Arikan (Superintendent and Artistic Director of theOpera Theater in Istanbul-Turkey), Mats Liljefors (Artistic Director of the Royal Festivals at the Royal Palace in Stockholm-Sweden and Principal Conductor of the Hermitage Museum Orchestra), Besim Petrela (Artistic Adviser of the Theater of'Opera in Tirana-Albania and Artistic Director of Apolonia Fest), Wolfgang Schreiber (music critic of the Süddeutsche Zeitung and contributor to Deutschlandradio Kultur-Germany) and Michelangelo Zurletti (Artistic Director of the Teatro Lirico Sperimentale di Spoleto).
The main teachers of the 2014 Avviamento al Debutto Course include baritone Renato Bruson, Ms. Enza Ferrari and directors Giorgio Bongiovanni, Sandra De Falco and Marco Martinelli.
The Concert will be presented from Andrea Penna, one of the voices of Rai Radio3 Suite, who is well acquainted with the Teatro Lirico Sperimentale di Spoleto having been its press officer a few years ago.
