Synopsis

"Liz Swados is a visionary. Her formidable talent develops from musical genius and extends beyond, creating a socio-spiritual worldview that has been a driving force for several generations of artists... "

Justin Bond, American singer-songwriter

"Liz makes important theater; her fierce optimism that the world can be changed, by children and by art, inspires all her work."

Oskar Eustis, artistic director of the Public Theatre

A specially created vocal and instrumental composition from Elizabeth Swados, a puzzle of stories, scientific descriptions, tales, news quotes and mythological descriptions about storms, destruction, rebirth and beauty.

Voices and instruments portray the sounds of different weather conditions, interweaving with a texture of poetry and prose. The show is to sometimes funny, to sometimes frightening or tragic.

Elizabeth Swados developed this project during an Artistic Residency, involving a group composed from of more than 50 young people from the area, including singers and musicians. The initiative was born from the collaboration with the Bisse Youth Association, directed from Claudio Scarabottini, which in recent years has distinguished itself for its great capacity for aggregation, succeeding to to carry out musical and theatrical projects with professional musicians and artists, giving a strong boost of creativity and dynamism to the cultural life of the city of Spoleto.
