Starting from a personal reflection, the dancers try to define what their common perception of precarious balance is, an intimate feeling that makes that moment before yielding eternal. We shovel snow every day devoid of initiative but confident that we do not find ourselves in situations bigger than ourselves where anxiety from performance might loom. A certainty, a sure pattern, a ritual. We hold on to to this score so as not to be unprepared, everything must be predictable and known. But the moment we step outside the pattern we are lost, the confrontation is too great, we feel in danger and are anxious. That feeling that increasingly characterizes contemporary man who in the face of current contradictions does not know where to find his balance. A subtle but continuous feeling of alertness, anticipation, fear as of imminent danger that accompanies the days and encounters with others.
