Musical Vignettes: The Voyage
The Singing Actors Repertory Company, also known as SARC, was founded in 2012. This experimental musical theater group based to Seoul, Korea, consists of from classically trained singers/actors seeking new means, other than the traditional operatic repertoire, to dramatically express their musical passion and impulse. Since the first production of Love and Dream, Painted with Songs premiered at the National Theatre of Korea in February 2013, SARC's theatrical productions have been presented at various venues in the United States, Korea, Germany and Italy, including the National Theatre of Korea, Seoul International Performing Arts Festival, La MaMa Spoleto Open, Edinburgh Festival Fringe, etc.
The Los Angeles Laptop Collective is a group of composers/performers/sound artists based at to Long Beach, California, who explore and push the boundaries between contemporary sound art, computer music and interactive technologies. The ensemble brings together performers and composers in experimental sound practices and interdisciplinary projects. The Los Angeles Laptop Collective premiered over thirty compositions. These works range from exclusively laptop pieces to pieces that incorporate live video, acoustic instrumentalists and modular synthesizers. The ensemble has been featured in various web broadcasts and experimental sound artist spaces throughout LA, such as Monkspace, LA Artstream's "Ear Meal," and has taken part in to festivals such as SoundPedro, SoundWalk and MERGE to San Pedro and Long Beach.
