The performance, named after the Japanese term hikikomori which literally means "to stand apart," represents the choice of those who choose to isolate themselves from the world around them by locking themselves in their rooms. A chosen solitude that is shared from other peers. What are the stages? What are the causes? What are the remedies? Let's open this room and enter it. Do they deserve our blame or our understanding?

Vito Alfarano, dancer, choreographer, video dance director, was born to Brindisi in '78. Since 2000 he began his professional activity as a freelance dancer and works with various choreographers. With his choreographies and video dance he obtains important awards and wins first national and international choreographic prizes: in Poland in 2009 the Grand Prix at "The IV International Sergei Diaghilev Competition of Choreographic Art," for the choreography Beyond Borders with the jury chaired from Vladimir Malakhov. Artistic director and founder in 2015 to Brindisi of AlphaZTL Compagnia d'Arte Dinamica, he has also directed choreographies for Compagnia Fabula Saltica, Venice Biennale Danza under the artistic direction of Ismail Ivo, Seoul International Dance Festival.
