Adrien M & Claire B
Last minute
After Blanca Li's Paris Grand Ball that thrilled audiences for two consecutive editions, a powerful new immersive experience signed by the duo Adrien M & Claire B arrives at Festival dei Due Mondi .
A symbolic and sensory journey through a hypnotic universe that revolves around to a single time-dilated minute, the one that precedes the crossing of the threshold between "before" and "after."
Thanks to a combination of music, lights and interactive projections, the audience moves through space, among the elements, to experience metamorphosis from the point of view of a particle, whether it is a drop, a burning flame, a rising smoke, a quivering ash, a vibrating earth, escaping air, a flowing rain, a rising wave.
Last minute was born from an intimate lived experience from Claire Bardainne that led her to reasoning, together with co-creator Adrien Mondot, about the concept of transformation: the last-minute journey.
«One day in May, at low tide», Claire Bardainne recounts, «I scattered my father’s ashes. Forever etched in me is the light of that minute stretched to infinity, when my father’s atomized body encompassed the world. My father is the land, my father is the sea, my father is the wind, and his presence is prolonged by an airplane’s trail across the clear sky. I am expecting a baby and as a reflection of each other, one body comes together as another comes apart».
Therefore, the starting point of this project is the end. The minute before we die or before we are born. An experience with a strongly ritualistic character designed to take care of our mourning, our births and our metamorphoses.
The company Adrien M & Claire B opera in the field of digital arts since 2004 with creations that merge reality and the virtual world thanks to to specially developed computer tools. The focus is on the human being and his body by resorting to a visual language based on play and fun as an expressive means of imagination.
