The Festival dei 2Mondi hosts La MaMa Spoleto Open, to curated by La MaMa Umbria International, an artistic residency, study and production center founded from Ellen Stewart -former founder and artistic director of La MaMa E.T.C. Theater in New York- to Spoleto in 1990. The event, realized in collaboration with Comune di Spoleto, the Festival dei 2Mondi and the involvement of numerous local associations and international partners, aims to give support and visibility to emerging realities in the Italian and international art scene. The program of La MaMa for 2018 presents several performances, mostly interdisciplinary, with the participation of emerging artists from Iran, Morocco, Lebanon, Russia, the United States, and Italy.
