VII Giornata nazionale del Mondo che non c’è
to Forty years after the staging of Jean Genet's Haute surveillance, performed in 1982 at the 25th edition of Festival dei Due Mondi from six inmates from from Rebibbia led by director Marco Gagliardo, the #SIneNOmine company, which is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year, brings the play Tempo libero to the stage at Casa di reclusione di Maiano in Spoleto.
Inspired by Italo Calvino's short stories The Castle of Crossed Fates and The Tavern of Crossed Fates, the show, directed from Giorgio Flamini and starring from inmates and others, focuses on the passage of time through a series of tableaux vivants, including tales of the past, prophecies, songs, music and dance.
Free time is among the initiatives organized on the occasion of the 7th National Day of the World that is Not There, to curated by CESP - Network of Restricted Schools, entitled "I am another" which refers to Arthur Rimbaud's famous statement "Je est un autre."
With "I am another" Rimbaud indicates the disorientation of man who has lost his identity and is "acted upon" from an "other" that disrupts him. This bewilderment is equally illustrative of the existence of those who, deprived of their personal freedom, find themselves restricted in institutions in which that dimension is the only figure.
In addition to the performance, the program of the VII National Day of the World that is Not There also includes two seminars scheduled for July 8 and 9 in two places that represent, in a sense, the "inside" and the "outside": the prison, the place where the journey of the "inmates" begins, and the library (Palazzo Mauri), a transformative place par excellence, representing the outside world to return to.
Finally, among the initiatives promoted is the photo exhibition Je est un autre, set up from July 1 to Sept. 30 along Spoleto's alternative mobility routes, celebrating 10 years of the #SIneNOmine Company.
The initiative has the Patronage of the National Guarantor of Persons Deprived of their Liberty and the contribution of Rai per il Sociale.
