Love boxes moves along four coordinates: it is political gesture, literary action, visual performance, theatrical event. Huge boxes/cages are staged from from which disiecta limbs of actors/prisoners - naked limbs, heads, portions of torso - emerge, while voices declaim verse and prose, allusive to a possible affective horizon.
Doubly locked up, brought back to pure corporeality, dissected, deprived of the unity that makes us persons, the protagonists of Love boxes speak of the affective deprivation that is part and parcel of punishment, and narrate without indulgence the harshness of this condition.
Love boxes is an individual experience, intense to the point of annoyance, revulsion, and pain, lacking the landing place of easy hope but, because of this, carrying deep reflections.
VOICES, SOUNDS, NOISES FROM PRISON
June 25 to October 30
to edited by Giorgio Flamini and Rosaria Mencarelli
"Voices sounds and noises" of everyday prison life evoke the recent past of the Albornoz Fortress, accompany the visitor from the outside to the "inside," leading him through the Duchy Museum into another dimension of possible dialogues. The works set up in the Museum - grave goods, altarpieces, crosses - come alive and filter sensory transits, showing the intramoenia of Casa di Reclusione di Maiano. The penitentiary city becomes less invisible in the same spaces that housed inmates from 1814 to 1982.
_IMAGO the in-visible road to the Third Paradise _
presentation June 25, 2016
from September 2016 to February 2017
Again in the name of Michelangelo Pistoletto's Third Paradise, two divided and mutually invisible worlds intertwine and figuratively unite. Between the two emergencies - the invisible city of Maiano, embedded in the urban fabric, and the Rocca that dominates the historic city - an ideal and real relationship is created, a connection of symbolic messages to generate new meanings._ in-VISIBLE_ thus becomes the ground of encounter and relationship between recluses and free, a place of confrontation that locates in the Rocca the space and time of moderation and dialogue.
CLOSE/D
by Yuval Avital
_Icono-sound installation for speakers and screens with inmates _
presentation June 25 or 26, 2016
_from January to June 2017 _
to edited by Stefania Crobe
The term icono-sound, created from Yuval Avital in 2008, describes a multi-sensory, visual and auditory artistic action to evoke a symbol, a cross-field of inquiry, an archetype. Similarly to what happens with classical iconography, this kind of opera is immediate and incisive reading for those who encounter it.
Starting from from these assumptions,_ CLOSE/D_ - in a play on words that evokes from one side a position of proximity, time and conditions, and on the other a condition of closure and deprivation - is an artistic process participated in by prisoners that proposes, through a sensitive rationality, an "other" reading of prison reality and returns it through two installations, iconography and sound together, distinct but connected.
