Have I been here before?Hamlet a monologue
Robert Wilson, one of the most important figures of our time in theater and visual arts, made his debut at the Spoleto Festival in 1974 with to letter for Queen Victoria. Thirty-four years later he returns to Spoleto to meet with the Festival audience and go over, in a kind of lecture - performance - the most important stages of his career. At the end of the meeting, viewers will be able to watch a video-documentation of the show Hamlet to monologue, or his personal interpretation of Shakespeare's classic. Produced in 1995, with Wilson himself the only star on stage, the show is an extraordinary success. The international tour lasts five years and touches major theaters around the world. The heavy physical demands required by the play and his many commitments as director forced Wilson to abandon this play, which is regarded as one of the cornerstones of his theatrical poetics. to seven years since its last performance, to leave from some high-definition recordings made to Tokyo and Warsaw, V-Factory - the digital art section of Change Performing Arts - has created a video that now allows us to see a show that can never be revived on a stage, because it is intimately linked to the interpretation of the author-actor now distant from that creative season.
