Histoire d’hommes
Judith Magre lends her deep, warm, sensual, mysterious voice and feline body to a pleiad of women with whom life has not been generous. Like small, barely sketched portraits, these stories tell and recall the difficulty of loving and being loved.
"I first met Judith Magre in a provincial brasserie and immediately her look, the sound of her voice, her enchanting intelligence, her funny and witty ways, disturbed me.
I immediately felt the desire to write for her, to listen to her voice, as special as that of a singer d'opera. I dreamed, imagined, built a mosaic of stories, a game, around to her.
Histoire d'hommes is about women talking about men, a combination of stories, feelings, little songs. It is about love understood in all its nuances.
And when love fades away there remain large spaces of loneliness where she wanders, among memories and recollections of stories that are like splinters, fragments.
And men appear and disappear, real ghosts."
