Contro lo spreco alimentare, non possiamo risparmiarci
The Association "Paolo Ettorre - Socially Correct, " was established to commemorate Paolo Ettorre, who during his career in the Saatchi & Saatchi advertising agency, always stood out for his sensitivity and commitment to social issues, championing numerous campaigns on issues of relevance to society.
With the aim of continuing this commitment, each year the Association holds a contest aimed at to students taking courses in the field of communication. The contest aims to develop a campaign on a social theme. The winning campaign will give the creative couple who devised it the opportunity to do an internship at the creative department of Saatchi&Saatchi Agency.
The theme of the contest this year is of great importance: food waste prevention. Data from the Waste WatcherNational Observatory on Waste reveal that every year Italian households throw away an average of 8.7 billion euros in food, equal to to about 0.5 percent of GDP. In an effort to curb this phenomenon, the Ministry of the Environment and Land and Sea Protection has established the National Food Waste Prevention Plan (PINPAS). It is the first food waste prevention plan Italy has ever had, created thanks to a task force coordinated by Last Minute Market President Andrea Segrè. It will be presented in November and then monitored for efficiency.
The objective of the contest campaign created for PINPAS, will be to raise awareness of the economic and environmental impact generated by household food waste. The campaign will also seek to involve the public by inviting everyone to to be an active part of the process by putting into practice those "good habits" that, applied in daily life, will make it possible to reduce the amount of food that ends up in the waste.
