"Passionate" (Sole 24 at), "convincing" (American Record Guide), "rich in personality" (Diapason). Cellist Silvia Chiesa has won over audiences and critics thanks to a brilliant solo career that places her among the most appreciated Italian performers in the world, with regular tours in the main European countries, as well as in the United States, China, Australia, Africa and Russia. Her artistic career is characterized by the breadth and originality of her repertoire, which also includes little-known or unjustly forgotten composers and pieces. Of note to in this regard is his successful rediscovery of two unknown masterpieces by Nino Rota: the Cello Concertos, recorded together with the Orchestra Nazionale della Rai di Torino conducted from Corrado Rovaris. Released in 2011 from Sony Classical, the album Rota: Cello Concertos received rave reviews from the Italian and international press. The Milanese cellist also has a leading role to play in the blossoming of contemporary repertoire for her instrument, and in 2015 she will "premiere" two new compositions dedicated to her by Azio Corghi and Nicola Campogrande. In 2005 she formed a stable duo with pianist Maurizio Baglini, which has been applauded on prestigious international stages. As a soloist she has collaborated with conductors such as Luciano Acocella, Paolo Arrivabeni, Gürer Aykal, Giampaolo Bisanti, Tito Ceccherini, Daniele Gatti, Cristian Orosanu, Corrado Rovaris, Howard Shelley, Brian Wright and Massimiliano Caldi. He has also recorded live concerts for radio and television stations such as Rai Radio3, Rai Sat, France Musique and France 3. He is resident artist of the international from chamber music festival "Amiata Piano Festival" and a lecturer at the Higher Institute of Musical Studies "Monteverdi" in Cremona. He plays a 1697 Giovanni Grancino cello.
He is among the brightest musicians on the international scene. Winner to twenty-four years of the World Music Piano Master in Monte Carlo, he has to his credit an intense career in Europe, America and Asia: more than 1200 concerts as a soloist and 1000 of from chamber music in prestigious venues such as Salle Gaveau in Paris, Victoria Hall in Geneva, Kennedy Center in Washington.
