CULTURAL HERITAGE RESCUE PRIZE
Seconda edizione
The second edition of the International Award for Courageous People Who Defend and Save Endangered Cultural Heritage is awarded this year to Spoleto as part of Festival dei Due Mondi.
The initiative was founded and is coordinated from Francesco Rutelli, president of the Culture Priorities Association.
Composing the international jury of the prize are: Francesco Rutelli, Chairman; Mounir Bouchenaki, Special Advisor to the Director General of UNESCO, former Director of ICCROM; Bonnie Burnham, President Emeritus of the World Monuments Fund, New York; Noah Charney, Director ARCA, Association for Research into Crime against Art, USA; Stefano De Caro, Director General of ICCROM - International Center for the Study of the Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage; Jack Lang, former French Minister of Culture, now President of the Institut du Monde Arabe in Paris, Giovanni Nistri, former Commander of the Carabinieri for the Protection of Artistic Heritage and Director of the Great Pompeii Project, Catherine Anne Robert - Hauglustaine, Director General ICOM - International Council of Museums, Ismail Serageldin, Director of the Great Library of Alexandria, Egypt, former Vice President of the World Bank, Peter Watson, writer, author of essays on the looting of Cultural Heritage, London.
