to Marie-Ange Nguci the Youth Award "A Window on the Two Worlds"
The Youth Prize "A Window on the Two Worlds," sponsored from Maria Flora and Zefferino Monini, was awarded today to French-Albanian pianist Marie-Ange Nguci.Named in France among the under-30 personalities capable of changing the world, at just twenty-three years of age she has already been consecrated on the international scene for her crystalline talent and "for a perfect mastery of piano technique that goes beyond the musical dimension, reaching a surprising spectrum of colors" (Le Figaro). Entering to thirteen years old in Nicholas Angelich's class at the Paris Conservatory, she completed the higher piano course in three years, adding specializations in Musical Analysis, Musicology, Pedagogy, the study of the cello, organ and Martenot Wave, a Doctorate to New York and a year of conducting at the University of Vienna. In his repertoire, one notices a predilection for those composers who were also great organists and improvisers. The jury's choice is meant to be a tribute to talent, sacrifice and the unparalleled ability of music to break down all barriers.
