Spoleto 67 on primetime TV: Orfeo ed Euridice directed by Damiano Michieletto on Rai 5 friday 6 September

After the documentary aired last August, Rai 5 dedicates one more prime time to the 67th Festival dei Due Mondi. friday Sept. 6 at at 9:15 p.m. Rai 5 airs Christoph Willibald Gluck'sopera Orfeo ed Euridice, directed by Damiano Michieletto, revived from Rai Cultura during performances at Spoleto's Teatro Nuovo Gian Carlo Menotti last July. L'opera is among the most beloved titles in the history of music, the production presented Festival dei Due Mondi was produced in collaboration with the Komische Oper in Berlin (where it was staged in January 2022). The personal reinterpretation by director Damiano Michieletto, among the most established and in-demand, includes sets by Paolo Fantin, costumes by Klaus Bruns and dramaturgy by Simon Berger. The musical performance is by the Orchestra of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia and the Vocalconsort Berlin Chorus, led from Antonello Manacorda and joined from by a cast of international caliber. Raffaele Pe plays Orfeo, Nadja Mchantaf is on stage as Eurydice, Josefine Mindus as Amore. They are joined by dancers Alessandra Bizzarri, Ana Dordevic and Claudia Greco, led by choreographer Thomas Wilhelm. David Cavelius is chorus director. Lighting is by Alessandro Carletti.
