Performance-Installazione
ALLA RICERCA DEL TEMPO PERDUTO
VISCONTI - PROUST

On the stage of the Teatro Caio Melisso Spazio Carla Fendi, in a Théâtre Minute, Giorgio Ferrara opens the two installations. Andrea Bosca tells the story of the film imagined on a text by Enrico Medioli.
Guest speaker Professor Alessandro Piperno, a great connaisseur of Marcel Proust'opera .
The installations, through unseen and surprising materials, recompose an itinerary of images and documentation of what Luchino Visconti was gathering to bring Proust's novel to the screen.
Thanks also to the decisive contribution of Caterina D'Amico who has made to available the original script written from her mother Suso Cecchi D'Amico, with autograph notes by Luchino Visconti, and to the great cultural value of what is kept in the Visconti fund at the Fondazione Istituto Gramsci in Rome, the precious tracks of a film that was imagined and never made is coming to light. On the eve of the first take, in fact, Visconti decided not to make the film: that film lived in his heart all his life since his early reading of the novel.
To the mysteries of a film that was conceived and never born, to the thousands of questions about the possible causes of such a denial, the double installation to care of Fondazione Carla Fendi attempts to provide answers.
Under the guidance at the opening of two exceptional witnesses, with Giorgio Ferrara - who was a close collaborator of Visconti - and Alessandro Piperno, a great scholar of French literature, from the Teatro Caio Melisso Spazio Carla Fendi the tale winds its way through the former Church of the Manna d'Oro, permeated with the places selected by the director, to the former Civic Museum, populated from a gallery of unforgettable characters and performers. In a web of lives lived and imagined.
The installation at the two locations continues until July 12.
