Roy Lerner - Clear as a Bell
Contemporary Arts Society is pleased to present a monographic exhibition dedicated to the great U.S. artist Roy Lerner, curated from Morgan Morris, under the sponsorship of Comune di Spoleto.
Roy Lerner's painting is characterized from a continuous experimentation with matter. To this end, the artist collaborated with Golden Laboratories and the NASA Research Center in order to create new materials later called interference.
A well-known representative of Color Field Painting, Lerner was also the last disciple of Clement Greenberg, a famous art historian and critic.
The pastiness of the material and the expressive power of color give enormous prominence to the artist's painting, until to becoming his very personal stylistic figures.
