PREMIO MONTBLANC
Protagonisti del cambiamento
a Luca Ronconi
Montblanc, partner of Spoleto55 Festival dei 2Mondi, renews its support for culture and art. The Montblanc Prize is awarded to the great director Luca Ronconi for contributing to to making Italian theater an important point of reference in international culture. In a career spanning more than 50 years, Ronconi has staged memorable shows that have gone down in history and directed important Italian theaters such as the Piccolo Teatro in Milan, the Stabile in Turin and the Teatro in Rome. On the occasion of the show, which will see the young promises of the Silvio D′Amico Academy take the stage, the Maison will donate to Luca Ronconi the fountain pen that symbolizes the dissemination and protection of culture: the Patron of Art Joseph II. A special occasion to underline Ronconi′s role as patron from years towards young Italian actors. Since 1992, Montblanc′s collection of instruments from writing Patron of Art has paid tribute to history′s most important patrons. This year Montblanc pays tribute to monarch Joseph II, an admirer of the arts and patron of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The fountain pen, with a design inspired by the imperial coat of arms, incorporates the Austrian national colors, white and red, and empire-style decorations on the body and cap. The monarch's coat of arms is engraved on the nib in champagne-colored gold, while the shape of the cap represents Joseph II's crown.
