Perthus
A small inland town in the south of France, not far from the Perthus pass that allows one to cross the Pyrenees and reach Spain.Paul and Jean-Louis, two young men who met in their final year of undergraduate studies, are preparing for the new life that will begin with the end of their academic course.Brilliant students, they will leave their country of origin to begin a new course of study to Paris or Toulouse. A year ahead, then, full of challenges. A friendship that is being forged but for Paul has already turned into love. The two ambitious mothers will prevent the birth of a passion from intruding on the intended course of their lives and careers. The two boys are in fact living with their respective mothers, Marianne and Irène, while their fathers, curiously absent figures, are disinterested in both their wives and their children. For the boys, however, this period of transition, where everything is experienced more intensely, also hides pitfalls and dangers. An atmosphere reminiscent of Frank Wedekind's Spring Awakening . Paul's love is rejected from Jean-Louis involved to himself in a rape case. Meanwhile, a friendship arises between the boys' mothers that will be lasting.
