M. R. Delalande Concert de Trompettes (Simphonie - Chaconne - Air - Menuet I/II - Air en echo)

At the court of Louis XIV Les trompettes des plaisirs, were four elite trumpets chosen from the twenty-four trumpets of the bodyguard; they enjoyed Chevalier status and depended directly on the King. The ensemble has a staff of natural trumpets (varying in number from three to five), baroque timpani and organ, to which other instruments are added to depending on the pieces on the program, until to reaching an orchestral ensemble. The repertoire of the 17th and 18th centuries, both ceremonial and more strictly "d´arte," is revived in the performances through the use of copies of ancient instruments and strict adherence to period performance practices. The ensemble has given concerts for festivals and Concert Associations of absolute prestige, including: Segni Barocchi-Foligno; Tor Vergata University-Rome; Luglio Musicale Trapanese-Trapani; International Festival "Gjgj Moret"-Venzone; Baroque Academy "W. Hermans"-Collescipoli; Ameria Umbra-Amelia Association; Civitavecchia in Festival; Roma Barocca in Musica.
The members of the ensemble are musicians who specialize in the performance of the repertoire of the 16th-18th centuries, give concerts also as soloists, collaborate with the most prestigious Baroque orchestras and have made recordings on record and radio.

A solemn event, civil or church, is not such if it is not accompanied by the sound of trumpets and timpani.
(F.Hiller - 1768)
