The MaMa Spoleto Open
Once again, the Festival hosts productions from La MaMa Spoleto Open, curated by La MaMa Umbria International, an artistic residency, research center, and production hub founded by Ellen Stewart in Spoleto in 1990. Designed to support and showcase emerging voices in the Italian and international artistic scenes, La MaMa continues to present innovative and interdisciplinary performances with the participation of both Italian and international artists.
This year’s program includes Accabadora by Lunella Clerchi and Caterina Campo, winner of the Bottom Up grant, as well as works from the two selected companies: Hòs by Compagnia UCCI UCCI and Timer by Compagnia ScenaMadre. The stage also features exciting emerging Korean talent, with Korean Rhapsody II by Byungkoo Ahn and History of Nightmares by HeeBeom Son. Notable performances include Daemon by Motus, Germe by SBB Company, Spinte by Claudio Larena, Zugzwang by Elisabetta Lauro and Gennaro Andrea Lauro, and more. The program is rounded out with a series of weekend performances specifically designed for young audiences.
