The Festival of Sustainable Culture
The Festival dei Due Mondi continues its journey toward sustainable development, strengthening its commitment to achieving environmental, social, and governance goals. Through various initiatives and collaborations, the Festival seeks to merge artistic expression with a deep sense of responsibility toward the local community and environment.
In recognition of this vision, the Festival has received two significant accolades: the sustainability certification from Arpa Umbria through the Sustainable Event Rating System and the EcoEvents certification. These milestones not only validate the progress made but also open new avenues for adopting ever more virtuous models of production and consumption. The goal is not only to minimize the environmental impact of its activities but also to raise public awareness and strengthen partnerships with institutions to build a more sustainable future.
The Fondazione Festival continues to actively engage local schools, offering opportunities for growth and participation. The Festival Siamo Noi project, now in its fifteenth edition, is aimed at primary school students, while the Green Corner, managed by secondary school students, serves as an informative and educational hub for sustainability initiatives. Additionally, the accessibility and inclusion projects launched in the previous edition continue, with workshops guiding middle school students through the discovery of local cultural heritage.
A central role in this outreach is played by the partnership with the Università per Stranieri di Perugia, which, through targeted research projects, aims to educate a new generation that is conscious of the environmental and social challenges of our time. Furthermore, the collaboration between the Comune di Spoleto and ISPRA (the Italian National Institute for Environmental Protection and Research) is further solidified, creating an essential synergy for developing innovative environmental protection strategies.
As in recent editions, the inclusion project for prisoners continues, led by the company #SIneNOmine, under the direction of Giorgio Flamini. This initiative offers participants a valuable opportunity for personal growth through art and theatre, highlighting the transformative and restorative power of culture.
