What music was sung and played in Europe and Italy in Dante's time, what was the music Dante knew? How is music presented in the Comedy, in what words, what sounds, what voices, what instruments? The Study Conference inspired to one of the most evocative expressions of the Convivio (Treatise II, Chap. XIII.24) intends to provide a broad and up-to-date contribution on these important musicological aspects related to the study of the poet'sopera on the seven hundredth anniversary of his death thanks to the presence of eminent scholars and historians of international prestige and the scientific curatorship ofAccademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia entrusted to Professor Agostino Ziino.
