Workshop di deep listenig
Deep listening is a practice created from Pauline Oliveros, queer American composer, improviser and performer, which explores the difference between the involuntary nature of hearing and the voluntary and selective nature of listening. Pauline Oliveros in her book Deep listening, to composer's sound practice defines deep listening as "learning to expanding the perception of sounds to include the entire spatiotemporal continuum of sound - including as much of its vastness and complexity as possible."
In practice, deep listening includes body work, sound meditations and score work, as well as guided listening to the sounds of everyday life, thoughts, imagination and dreams. It cultivates greater awareness of the sound environment, both external and internal, and promotes experimentation, improvisation, collaboration and other creative skills vital to artistic growth.
"I apply this method to my research on voice and performance through scores and improvisations. I believe that today more than ever listening is a strong political statement and that a practice rooted in opening one's body and ears to others can ensure growth both as artists and as empathetic human beings."
