He was born to Montevideo on July 28, 1956. As soon as he finished his studies in Italy, he left for Chicago in the retinue of Puecher where he continued his work as assistant director in Offenbach'sopera The Tales of Hoffmann. Eager to perfect his talent, he moved to New York where he studied for four years with Lee Strasberg, Nicholas Ray and Stella Adler. In 1983 he produced, wrote and performed in his first film Summertime, which won the Venice Film Festival. In his thirty years of intense and uninterrupted activity he ranges between theater, film and television as an actor, producer, director, screenwriter or host. His theatrical career includes over thirty shows with the great distinction of having represented for the first time in Italy authors such as Mamet, Bogosian, Hare, Elton, and Williams. The crowning achievement of his theatrical career comes with P. Shaffer's Amadeus, one of the greatest successes of recent years directed by Roman Polanski. In 2004 he plays the role of Billy Flinn in the Italian version of the famous musical Chicago. On television he participates to about eighty scripts and to twenty variety shows. For film he makes thirty films as a lead and five as a producer and works in numerous feature films alongside to prestigious actors such as Meryl Streep, Clive Owen and Naomi Watts.
Born to Milan in 1968, he graduated from Gigi Proietti's school. He now divides from several years as a leading actor between prose and musical theater. His most recent shows include Cristina Comencini's Due Partite and Giorgio Gaber's _Il Caso _di Alessandro e Maria, a show with an Italian and international tour. For Compagnia della Rancia he collaborated to Singing in the Rain, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers and The Nights of Cabiria. Also the show Dance!, for which she co-authored the text, and again Il Giorno della Tartaruga, all directed by Saverio Marconi. Among her collaborations with Teatro Sistina directed by Pietro Garinei: Alleluja Brava Gente and Aggiungi un Posto to Tavola. She starred again in Tootsie directed by Maurizio Nichetti and in Il pianeta proibito directed from Patrick Rossi Gastaldi. In 2010 she played the role of Donna in the musical Mamma Mia! Her film experiences include numerous roles with prestigious directors; she has worked with Francesca Archibugi with whom she filmed L'Albero delle Pere and the more recent Questione di Cuore. Her awards in recent years include the Maratea Teatro Award, won twice, the Anna Magnani Award and the prestigious Ennio Flaiano Award won in 2008 as best musical theater performer. Formerly casting director of Sister Act, he is now casting director and associate director of La Febbre del Sabato Sera. In the 2012/13 theater season, he debuted as director in Colette Freedman's prose play Affairs of the Heart. In the 2013/14 season he directed the highly acclaimed play Tres, a comedy by Juan Carlos Rubio. In 2014 he directed the concert show The Best of Musical.
Naples, Italy 1962. A graduate first in Flute and Jazz Composition, he then obtained a Level II Academic Diploma in Saxophone at the Naples Conservatory of Music. During his career, he tackles different musical experiences, collaborating with many Italian and international artists both in recordings and live tours. Some among them: Chet Baker, Solomon Burkes, Van Morrison (to the Royal Albert Hall), Don Moye and Art Ensemble of Chicago, Mike Minieri, Marc Johnson (who collaborated on his CD 7 and a half), Archie Shepp, Joe Lovano, Airto Linsay, Gil Goldstein, Rita Marley, Stefano Bollani, Omar Sosa. Since 1995 he began his activity as a composer. from then he has released 12 CDs of original pieces from he composed. His works are published in Europe and Canada. He has composed music for film, theater and television, collaborating with directors such as Luca Barbareschi, Antonio Capuano, Paolo Sorrentino. He has won several prizes and awards for his soundtracks, including "the quality award" from the Ministry of Culture. Marco Zurzolo presents his projects on tour in Italy and abroad, hosted in the most representative international festivals, such as Umbria Jazz (Perugia, Italy) and the Festival International de Jazz de Montreal (Canada).
