Centro di documentazione
del Festival dei Due Mondi
It is an experience from not to be missed to be inside Casa Menotti, the historic palazzetto in Piazza Duomo where the Festival was born and where Maestro Gian Carlo Menotti lived, composed and hosted internationally renowned artists. Here is home to the Documentation Center of Festival dei Due Mondi, created in 2011 by the collaboration between the Monini Foundation, the Foundation Festival dei Due Mondi and Comune di Spoleto.
In the five years since it opened, the Documentation Center has become a living place for Spoleto culture to accessed by thousands of visitors each year. It is possible to find there the documentary, audio, video, photographic and printed material on the Festival from 1958 to today, catalogued and digitized by the experts of the Monini Foundation.
In its rooms, where many objects that belonged to the Maestro including his piano are collected, it is possible to attend concerts that are periodically entrusted to young musicians, visit temporary exhibitions of artists linked to the area, stop for a day of study among memorabilia and memorabilia related to a historical period of great ferment for Spoleto and for all of cultural Italy.
A custodian of the Festival's historical memory, the Documentation Center, in fact, allows a true journey through time and the arts thanks to the most advanced multimedia systems.
