Battiti d’ali notturni – seduta psiconautica
C. U. T. University Theatrical Center of Perugia
The Psychonautical Way
project to curated by Roberto Ruggieri
Battiti d'ali notturni is the title of the ´psychonautical session´: a psychonautical jam session that springs from the creative sparks of the performers' ´psychonautical explorations´, in real time, hic et nunc. Everything happens in front of to ´witnesses/observers'. Even the director/first 'witness/observer
participant' explores and exposes himself: the psychonautical journey is an experience that belongs to everyone present, no one excluded. The observers/witnesses peek as from cracks, from cracks in the walls. From the scours of this material the performative event comes to life. Thus are
highlighted at the same time, both the creative methodological path proper to psychonautical research, and the artistic results found in the course of 'opera. The process is not separated from the results. The spectators are 'witnesses' to the secrets that generate and underlie the creative act: a one-of-a-kind event, an unrepeatable concert, different every night, according to the 'nightly wingbeats' of the performers. A kind of redemptive path to wholeness, the integrity of the individual. Ludwik Flaszen, whom we are honored to have to side from 20 years, a lecturer in scenic dramaturgy in our alternative pedagogy center, following our work with interest, called this lyrical path, isolated from large urban and theatrical centers, "theater of solitude." How is a 'psychonautical session' created? How are the performative results created that will to compose a psychonautical performance? Here, "Battiti d'ali notturni" answers to these and other such questions, isolating the magnetic field, the metaphysical tension, the yearning toward
the light of the inner time of the psycho-chrono-nautical journey. The performer who traverses the penumbra of the seemingly intricate clutter of the forest of his existence, careful to not to make it become an orderly path of a uniformly lit park, ultimately accepts the risk of the unknown, as is appropriate to who performs a true creative act of knowledge. Everyone breaks through accompanied by his own dæmon, inextricably united with his Shadow. The psychonaut travels within himself, in inner time/space. The performative physical action is a 'bait' it offers: a lure to locate, feel, sense the
presence and warp of the Web woven within us and outside us. The Web is beyond phenomenal time, transcends it: we can nevertheless sense its silent weaving, sense it. We can sense what it is not,
only through what it is: therefore everything starts with physical action. Only by performing it scrupulously is one in a position to glimpse the warp of the weaving that transcends and originates us, through the energy that is its vehicle.
