LA MAMA SPOLETO OPEN 2016
A'opera multidisciplinary, visually stunning, combining movement, video art, storytelling, masks and music.
to beginning with the vision on the tragedy of Spanish philosopher Maria Zambrano, an Antigone who lives to find herself in the double labyrinth, that of her lineage and that of her brothers' war. An epilogue that takes place in the place where Sophocles left Antigone: uprooted from life and uprooted from death, in a space that expands to reflect the current situation of thousands of people forced into exile. A group of refugee women and men in Italy make up theAntigone in Exilium chorus. "I discovered Nube Sandoval a few years ago in Colombia and from the first moment she seemed to me a figure full of promise for the theater of her generation. She is part of those artists who arrive to such an intensity of action and presence from being immersed in theater as in full life, in no way fictitious. So much so that her relationship with society and her commitment to a theater in direct contact with the problems of the world turn her precisely into an Antigone of contemporary times" (Georges Banu).
