Voci dal ventre della miniera di Morgnano
"I look for the North Star, my compass is not enough ,I have to look with my eyes at that mysterious and romantic light that lights up every night next to the moon. When I am old I must not forget that star, especially when hope needs her."

The mouth of the mine is closed from more than fifty years but the voices from the belly of the earth can still be heard. They are the voices that continue to digging into everyday life, among the memory of years of suffering and great achievements.
Two worlds, the one below, and the one above the land of Spoleto and Italy, an original writing born after a series of surveys and interviews that brings to light the brotherhood, pride, pain and days of hope of the miners of Morgnano and their families.
The show has its stage space at the Morgnano Mine (Orlando pit) in S. Croce. A story still alive and universal of miners above and men below the floor of the world, to three hundred and fifty meters deep from our lives. On stage will be Benigno Fabbi , a miner from the Orlando Shaft, along with other miners, witnesses and protagonists of life in the mine.

"... one night when he was finishing his shift, he dug so deep into the coal layer that he could to see through a hole the sky below his feet. At first he thought that the mine and consequently the sky had turned upside down, but to looking at it closely it was the same sky three hundred and fifty meters above, with its stars, clouds and moonlight. In short, all the things in the sky in their place. So what? Could it be possible that he had made such a deep hole from pass from part to part the earth? Impossible. So what? He crinkled his eyes well and looked again into the hole. There was no doubt it was indeed the sky. It's okay that strange things happen in mines, but this then .... He looked into the hole again. It was indeed the sky, an upside-down sky. He would have given all the gold in the world to have had someone near to him who could share that absurd vision, but he was at the end of the shift and the others had already risen to the surface, only he was missing, who being the mouth leader, would rise last."
"to what is the use of telling stories? to what is the use of making examples? Do we tell for ourselves or for others? È ... that the mouth opens and out comes ... the soul! We show the teeth, the tongue, the eyes with those hand movements, those contractions of the abdomen. We are a moment in this infinite constellation of human beings. In that moment there is life and death, hope and resignation, there is one hand seeking another in the acceptance of a life full of calluses, cuts and slight tremors."
