RICORDANDO CARLO MARIA MARTINI
to one year after the death of Cardinal Martini, the Corriere della Sera Foundation, in collaboration with Il Festival dei Due Mondi di Spoleto, remembers the figure of the Archbishop of Milan by proposing a reflection to multiple voices on the value and legacy of his work.
to remembering the Cardinal will be the people who were closest to him and had the opportunity to dialogue with him on the issues that characterized his bishopric: Marco Garzonio, columnist for Corriere della Sera, a deep connoisseur of the Cardinal'sopera , his biographer(Il profeta. Vita di Carlo Maria Martini, Mondadori, 2012) and author of the theatrical text Martini: Il Cardinale e gli altri; Don Damiano Modena, priest to Vallo della Lucania, personal assistant to the Cardinal and author of the book Carlo Maria Martini. Guardian of the Mystery in the Heart of History (Paoline Editoriale Libri, 2005); sister Maris Martini; Mayor of Rome Ignazio Marino, an assiduous interlocutor of the Cardinal on bioethical issues and co-author with him of Believing and Knowing (Einaudi, 2012).
The meeting, coordinated by Corriere della Sera Foundation President Piergaetano Marchetti, is intended to be a first step toward an in-depth study of a figure whose constant commitment to understanding the most controversial cultural and social issues has made him a point of reference for our country.
The meeting is organized on the occasion of the presentation of the play Martini: The Cardinal and the Others by Marco Garzonio directed by Felice Cappa, conceived and produced from Corriere della Sera Foundation and Spoleto56 Festival dei Due Mondi.
