A countertenor in high demand on opera stages worldwide, Raffaele Pe captivated Festival audiences last year as Orfeo in Damiano Michieletto’s production. Driven by a passion for rediscovery, he founded La Lira di Orfeo with the ambitious goal of revolutionizing the world of Baroque music.
No journey through this repertoire would be complete without the father of the chamber cantata: “Scarlatti is a great composer whom Italy should remember more often,” says Pe. On the 300th anniversary of Alessandro Scarlatti’s death, he pays tribute with this special concert, celebrating the enduring brilliance of his music.
