Dante Ferretti will be honored with the SIAE Award for Creativity on June 26 at Festival dei Due Mondi in Spoleto. from "Medea" by Pier Paolo Pasolini (1970) to Martin Scorsese's "Shutter Island" (2009), Oscar winner Ferretti ("The Aviator" 2004 and "Sweeney Todd: The Devilish Barber of Fleet Street" 2008) is one of Italy's greatest set designers, a creative talent whose fame has spread around the world.The Società Italiana Autori Editori will award 3 additional prizes this year to a choreographer, a set designer and a playwright. A committee of experts chaired by Festival Artistic Director Giorgio Ferrara and composed of SIAE President Giorgio Assumma (as honorary president), SIAE Director General Gaetano Blandini, SIAE board member Giancarlo Lucariello, from Alessandra Ferri, Gianni Quaranta and Franca Valeri will identify the awardees.SIAE will also offer specific sponsorship to the "memory award" that Dante Ferretti will present in memory of set designer Gianni Silvestri, who passed away last year.
