Premio Monini - Una finestra sui 2Mondi
The Monini family, at the helm from three generations of the Umbrian oil mill of the same name and from always a supporter of the Spoleto Festival, recently purchased the house in Piazza del Duomo where Maestro Menotti lived and worked for more than 50 years to make it, since 2011, the home of the Museum and Documentation Center of Festival dei Due Mondi.
Monini, however, wants to pay tribute to the Festival as of from this year by establishing the "A Window on the Two Worlds" Award, linked to Casa Menotti.
An Award that takes its cue from the tribute that Maestro Menotti traditionally paid to the Festival audience, looking out of the window of his home together with some of the guest artists.
"In these 52 years many legendary personalities have passed from Casa Menotti, looking out to that same window, and even today the Foundation invites to Spoleto very important personalities in the cultural sphere. We wondered what would be the best way to symbolize and actualize, while respecting tradition, the uniqueness of an event such as Festival dei Due Mondi explains Maria Flora Monini, communications and image director of Monini SpA.
The Prize will be awarded from a jury of quality to the artist whose talent is internationally recognized and contributes to establishing the Festival as a stage of world importance. Artist who, in keeping with tradition, will be portrayed at the window to join to the gallery of the "greats of the Festival."
