Now in its twelfth year, the award is presented on the final evening of the next edition of Spoleto Festival dei Due Mondi, to astrophysicist Ersilia Vaudo Scarpetta Chief Diversity Officer and Special Advisor on Strategic Evolution of ESA, the European Space Agency.

The Prize contribution is aimed to IL CIELO ITINERANTE, a nonprofit association of which Ersilia Vaudo is president and founder (along with Alessia Mosca and Giovanna Dell'Erba). The 'Association was founded in 2021 with the goal of "bringing the sky where it does not reach." With a van loaded with experiments and telescopes, IL CIELO ITINERANTE offers to children living on the Italian territory in areas with large educational gaps, the possibility of an unprecedented exposure to the wonders of Science and Space.
