Restricted schools network confronts
In the Italy that emerges from the Constitutional Charter, education in prison, from coercive obligation and instrument of discipline, becomes an opportunity for change. This passage constitutes a real watershed in the conception of prisoner treatment and the role of education in penal execution. With the affirmation of different reference values from those of an authoritarian and corporatist nature present in the 1930 penal code, education becomes closely intertwined with the theme of resocialization, the development of culture, a sense of humanity, respect for dignity, rights and freedoms, but also for duties, solidarity, inclusion, sharing and participation.
