Mahler & LeWitt Studios
Jonathan Monk: Torre Bonomo
The Bonomo Tower hosts works by artist Jonathan Monk, including several ceramic sculptures made in Deruta during his residency at Mahler & LeWitt Studios. Monk's work-a tribute to figures such as Sol LeWitt, Ed Ruscha, Bruce Nauman and Lawrence Weiner-recalls the procedural strategies typical of conceptual and minimalist art of the 1960s and 1970s and enriches them with a personal or playful twist. The exhibition includes a screening of to CubeSol LeWitt photographed by Carol Huebner using nine different light sources and all their combinations front to back to front forever (2001).
