The existence of Marcelline, a 40-year-old actress chosen to play the character of Natalia Petrovna in Turgenev´s "A Month in the Country," is disrupted from a series of events. First and foremost is her meeting with Nathalie, the director´s assistant, who 20 years earlier was her fellow student in acting school and who, after marrying and becoming a mother, had to give up the stage to devote herself to her family. Both seem to desire the life of the other, and to add to the doubts and uncertainties of Marcelline, who is single and childless, her gynecologist intervenes and forces her to to become aware of her age for eventual motherhood. Helping the actress in the difficult choice of the direction from to give to her life will be a series of ghosts from her past that will manifest themselves in dreams, up to the apparition of Natalia Petrovna herself and, even, of the Madonna...
