An exhibition recounting the links between Dante and the ancient Duchy of Spoleto. Among the many volumes and objects on display are a valuable 1484 incunabulum containing the Commedia with a commentary by Cristoforo Landino, some illustrated editions of the Commedia dating back to the 16th century, maps from the 16th and 17th centuries, and 14th-century fragments of the Commedia recently unearthed both among the documents of the Spoleto archival section and those of the municipal archives of Cerreto di Spoleto and Norcia.
A section of the exhibition to Palazzo Mauri displays some volumes from the Carandente Library in which the influence of Dante's imagery on twentieth-century artists, cinema and visual languages emerges. The exhibition is divided into two venues: Palazzo Mauri, home of the Municipal Library, and the Spoleto State Archives Section at the San Matteo Complex.
